Manaslu and Tsum Valley Trek takes you through the Himalayas, which are very far away and are in the north of Nepal. One of the most remote parts of the country, clinging to the side of a mountain in the Himalayas’ frozen peaks. The Manaslu and Tsum Valley Trek is one of Nepal’s most famous trekking routes.
This place is remote, natural, and honest. It has beautiful scenery, hidden gems, and different sides to it. The real people are something you’ll miss if you don’t take the back roads. Traditions and cultures are dying out so quickly in the world, but here you can see communities that are both very beautiful and very weak. An adventure walk where you can experience the full range of landscapes and the people who live there.
The Tsum Valley is one of the most remote and hidden valleys in the Himalayas. A secret Buddhist land in Tibet has only been open to visitors since 2008, and it hasn’t been changed at all. Tibetans still live here and use old ways of talking, making art, practicing religion, and learning. Where nomads can be in touch with nature in the middle of wild, untouched landscapes.
On the Manaslu and Tsum Valley Trek, you can discover hidden valleys, walk through lush forests, high alpine areas, along sheer cliffs, and over high mountain passes in the foothills of the Himalayas.
Most people still hadn’t seen what heaven really was. Realms that no one can find, except for the monks and the gods. Some of the most beautiful places on earth are on the Manaslu and Tsum Valley Trek.
We began our walk in Kathmandu.
You can start the Manaslu and Tsum Valley Trek in Kathmandu and end it in Gorkha, in the small town of Machha Khola. The trek begins at Machha Khola. From here, go towards Dobhan by going through the hills in the middle of the country. Next, head towards the village of Philim by following the river’s rapids. The next day, the trail takes you to the Lower Tsum Valley. Cross the beautiful Tsum Valley to get to Chhokang Paro, a village in the Upper Tsum Valley.
The next day, it goes further into the valley until it reaches the village of Chhule. You can visit different monasteries and the Milarepa Cave here. In the 1100s, the Buddhist philosopher and saint is said to have meditated in these caves. Then, get closer to the border with Tibet until you reach the Mu Gompa, which is built into a glacier. Find out about the mountain people’s long history and unique culture here.
How the Manaslu Circuit Was Tried
The hidden secrets of the Tsum Valley lead you back down to Ripchet after you figure them out. If you go from Ripchet to Pewa, you’ll reach the Manaslu Circuit tests. Then, go north along the Budi Gandaki River, going through wide valleys and a few landslides until you reach the village of Ghap. Head towards Lho from Ghap. Along the way, you can see the beautiful views of the Himalayas and the networks of green hills. Along the way, you’ll see a number of Gompas and lush farms growing barley and potatoes.
After that, the trails get steeper and take you along the wide valley until they reach Samagaun. The next day, they move towards Samdo, going through areas where Yaks graze. You can get a great view of many mountains and peaks of the huge Manaslu from Samdo. The next day, after exploring the area around Samdo, go to Dharamsala, which is the last town before crossing the pass.
Today is the most-anticipated day of the trek. The pass you will be crossing today is one of the highest in the Himalayas. Early in the morning, get up and go for a walk while taking in the view of the stars and mountains. As you slowly climb, you’ll reach the top of the pass and be able to see amazing views. From there, you can continue your descent to the other side. You will have to walk on snow and loose rocks as you go down through the Manaslu Conservation Area and along trails in the Annapurna region to get to the village of Bimtang. The next day goes through a few more villages before reaching Dharapani, which is where the Manaslu Circuit meets the Annapurna Circuit.
At Alpine Club of Himalaya, your safety is the most important thing to us. We can cancel the trip or change the plans at any time if we think it’s necessary or if we have reason to believe that your safety is at risk. When travelling in remote mountain areas, things like bad weather, natural disasters, the health of a group member, and other things can cause changes to the plan. In these very dangerous situations, we kindly ask that you fully support the trusted leader of the group that the Alpine Club of Himalaya has chosen. We promise, though, that we will do everything we can to stick to the above schedule.
